About Us

This is PrintShip3D

PrintShip3D is an idea in which I have made it my goal to make 3D printing usable for those who do not have the ability to plan and create 3D models on the PC. At the same time, I would like to encourage interested parties to build models who do not have a workshop to build larger models.

Using the open source 3D designer "BLENDER" I started to import old 3D models that I created with older programs and to see what else I could get out of it.  Since it is but these were so-called "low-poly" models for the preferred use in simulators, these were not suitable for printing as a 3D model.

Then I decided to design a completely new model specifically for 3D printing. This is where mine fellDecision on the cruise ship "Mein Schiff 3" of the shipping company TUI-Cruises.

During the construction of the ship, I sat in front of the 3D printer and watched it print the components. As I pondered the assembly, I realized that this procedure is reminiscent of the construction of real ships, in which individual sections are manufactured separately and then joined together on the slipway to form a whole. I also got the idea to share all this with others.

The idea of PrintShip3D was born. The first thing I thought about was the scope. The Mein Schiff 3 model, the creation of which is described in full in my blog, is not very suitable as a sales model - at least at the moment, as it consists of an extremely large number of parts to be printed.

So I started to prepare the first components, which I planned to equip Mein Schiff 3 with, as a salable product. From the many 3D models - mainly German military ships - from  recently I was able to secure various weapon systems. I have and will gradually "pretty" them and prepare them for 3D printing. Once this is done, these will be available here in the shop.

Our goal

We hope that 3D printing will become another good and accepted way to make model ships in various sizes, shapes and variations. PrintShip3D gives you the opportunity to buy digital models and print them in any scale. Large models can be made in sections and then bolted together and glued waterproof.

With PrintShip3D, we are breaking away from fixed, prefabricated kits from the trade and putting many decisions in your hands. We give you the power to decide on the size and functionality of the models. You get to decide how long and wide you want the ship to be to build it to fit where you envision it.

PrintShip3D wishes you a lot of fun discovering the site.
